New CLASP Charity Trustees

CLASP Charity is expanding and thanks to your support, 2018 promises to be an amazing year as we continue raising Mental Health Awareness, Suicide Prevention and ending the stigma surround Mental Illness.

In order to continue our work and help guide implementing significant developments in our operational activities across the country, we are seeking to appoint up to five new trustees, including a Chair, Deputy Chair and Treasurer. We aim to have a broad range of experiences on the Board, including people directly affected by a mental health condition, plus carers and family members as well as those working in a professional capacity in this field.

As a Trustee, you would have the opportunity to become involved in the key policy debates surrounding mental health awareness and be able to share your views and experiences at the highest level, through our work. You would also have the opportunity to become involved in CLASP Charity’s ongoing activities and projects, helping CLASP to implement its current objectives as well as identifying future strategic priorities and to meet others who are involved in a variety of capacities at mental healthcare charities.

The Board of Trustees provides strategic direction and governance to our charity, helping to support the Chief Executive Officer and guide all aspects of our work. Trustees are also registered as directors of Counselling Life Advice Suicide Prevention (CLASP) Charity Limited, a limited liability company.

Trustees are expected to attend four board meetings a year and to participate in the life of the organisation between meetings. Meetings are held in London on week days. Appointments as a CLASP Trustee is for 3 years and renewable for a further term.
